History of EWALD
Ewald Instruments was founded in 1951 in Manhattan, NY by Mr. Lux Ewald and later moved operations to Kent, CT in 1955. The company began manufacturing miniature and small resistance welders before adding flash strippers in 1957 and flash cutters in 1971.
In 1981, Ewald Instruments sold the resistance welding business to Black & Webster (Waltham, MA). Several years later, Dick Vreeland entered into a sales agreement with Mr. Ewald in 1989 that was finalized in 1995. Dick had previously worked for Ewald during the 1970s and then also with Black & Webster.
In 2023, T. J. Snow Company acquired Ewald designs from Dick and relocated manufacturing to their facilities in Chattanooga, TN.
T. J. Snow has long standing experience in machine building of standard and custom resistance welding equipment, so the EWALD flash strippers and flash cutters are a natural addition to the product offerings.
